The incomprehensible success of poker over the last few years, with its ubiquitousness on television, the skyrocketing sales of poker chips, poker tables, and other poker paraphernalia, as well as the widespread glorification of poker's champions, has truly led the game to go mainstream. The one thing that seemed to be missing to officially crystallize poker's sport status was an umbrella organization, like golf's PGA, to act as an authoritative governing body over all the world's players. The World Federation of Poker (WFP) aims to provide just that.
